Doodle alternatives: a comparison of scheduling poll tools

Doodle remains the benchmark for scheduling polls, but its free version shows ads and now requires an account. Here are the main alternatives, compared on verifiable criteria: free of charge, ads, account, open source and hosting location.

Comparison compiled on 4 October 2026 from each publisher's official pages (pricing, help center, privacy policy, code repository). Offers change: check the current terms on their website. Calenoo is the tool we publish.

    The criteria that matter

    • What the free version actually allows, and what it reserves for paid plans.
    • Ads, shown to the organizer and participants alike.
    • A mandatory account, to create a poll or to respond to one.
    • Open source code, if open-source software matters to you.
    • The publisher and where the data is hosted.

    Doodle

Doodle is published in Zurich by Doodle AG, a TX Group subsidiary. Its free version shows ads to organizers and participants alike, limits a group poll to 10 slots and, since August 2025, requires an account to finalize a poll. Participants respond without an account, by entering their name and email. According to its list of subprocessors (September 2026), data is hosted with Amazon Web Services and MongoDB Atlas, in Germany and Ireland.

    Framadate and Rallly

Framadate, from the French association Framasoft, is free, ad-free and open source (Pollaris software, AGPL-3.0). It moved to a new version on 24 September 2026. A poll lasts 180 days by default.

Rallly is open source (AGPL-3.0) and ad-free; you create and respond to a poll without an account. In the free version, polls are deleted once the dates have passed, after 30 days without activity. According to its privacy policy, the database is hosted in the United States.

    Nuudel and DuD-Poll

Nuudel, from the German association Digitalcourage, runs on the Framadate software. Its privacy statement excludes cookies, tracking and advertising banners; an email address is requested to create a poll.

DuD-Poll, formerly Dudle, is a research service of TU Dresden. It is open source (AGPL-3.0), but comes with no support or guarantee, and deletes polls after two months without being viewed.

    Xoyondo, When2meet and Outlook

Xoyondo is free and requires no sign-up; the absence of ads is part of its Premium plan, at 29 EUR per year. When2meet, free and without an account, displays a declared Google ad in its footer.

The Outlook scheduling poll (formerly FindTime) is included in professional Microsoft 365 plans with Exchange Online. The organizer must have a professional mailbox; participants respond with any email address.

    Calenoo

Calenoo is free and unrestricted, ad-free, and you create a poll without an account: an email address is enough to receive your links. Guests respond without an account, in French, German, English or Italian.

Its distinctive strengths: a visual calendar view, your linked calendars in the background so you don't propose a slot that is already taken, and a booking page in the same tool. Calenoo is published in Neuchâtel and hosts its data in Switzerland. Its code is not open source.

    Which tool should you choose?

    • Free, with no ads or account, in four languages and published in Switzerland: Calenoo.
    • Open source matters to you: Framadate, Rallly or DuD-Poll.
    • Your organization works in Microsoft 365: the Outlook scheduling poll is already included.
    • You want the most widely used tool and accept ads or a subscription: Doodle.
